Oh, by the way, that post I made about the manslut thing was a joke. The point is that I didnt care. I appreciate that you guys care enough to say that stuff, but please try not to take all this too seriously. Nothing can come of hate, and hate is all people spread when they start getting pissy about other people. If Mir doesnt like me, I guess I gotta live with that. Doesnt mean I dont like her, but if people keep saying stuff like that, I doubt she'll like me again any time soon. Know what I mean? |

| Lemme give this a try |

Now, I usually can't stand rants. I cant stand em in the least for three reasons. One, they're kinda immature the way its mostly a constant whine. Two, they're cowardly, in that your voicing your opinion withuot fear of being proven wrong, and three, they're annoying considering how uninformed some of these people are. With that in mind, I'll try and keep the following as level headed as possible, and promise to read and consider all feedback.
Now then, it's come to my attention that people are getting far too angry these days. I don't know exactly when this started, but it seems people don't need a good reason to be angry anymore, so it probably began back when people had plagues and a 1 in 3 chance of birth defects, and 16 hour hard labour days. You know, back when people had REAL problems.
Ahem... sorry, that was a bit uncalled for. Anyways, I just want to address a few problems people have been having lately that seem to just be excuses to hate things. I'll get started right away.
1: IRC Channel rivalries.
Now, I dont hang around chatrooms anywhere near as much as I used to, but since when did different groups of friends who like to talk about video games become blood thirsty armies? The rivalries and hatred I ve seen between two channels that have basically the same concept and topic really baffles me. I'm sure there are people who've done horrible horrible things to you in these rooms, but thats the beauty of it. You don't like it, make a new channel, and get your buddies together. It's IRC. It's not the civil war.
2: Valentine's Day
Did everyone have a nice valentine's day? Did everyone get a box of chocolates and a dozen roses, and make long sweet love all night long? No. Not everyone's in a relationship. Thus valentines day doesnt have the same meaning to us all. Now, there are plenty of holidays out there I dont celebrate. For example, lets take passover. Now, I'm not jewish, thus all I know about passover is the basic idea. But I've never celebrated it. Does this mean I have the right to whine about it being a joke, a stupid holiday that was conceived for stupid reasons? Of corse not. Yet I've seen about twenty people today bash valentines for being too commercial. Well heres a surprise. Thats the idea. If all holidays stuck to their roots with no commercial value, do you really think there'd be over a dozen simpsons halloween specials? So what if some people make some money off of it? It's fun. Those who participate know what they're doing. And if you dont want to celebrate, nobody's gonna force ya. Just dont ruin the fun for those with a long night planned.
3: Straight people who go to gay bars.
This is my last one, and I'll try to keep it simple. Women: I know you like the idea of going to bars where you wont get hit on, but remember this. Guys arent as dumb as prime time sitcoms like to make em. They'll find the source of straight women, and are willing to go to gay bars to get it. They have, they do, and they will. Now there's a large portion of straight people of both genders in these gay bars. Stop for a second and think about that. Arent you ruining the fun for a certain someone? Christ, how would you feel if you were gay and you wanted to find a companion, only to find a GAY bar full of STRAIGHT people?
That about wraps it up. |
